Guide brings the attentive and curious listener on a wandering following a logic of its own. If one walks close to the sound the sound will shift in volume and getting even closer the sound will stop at that spot and continue to lead on from a more distant location. Etc, etc.
The version shown is a prototype for a larger piece that can be placed in a public space, indoors or outdoors. Guide in this version are two sound boxes that wants to appeal people with a beautiful melody that shifts location and volume according to the audiences interaction.
Guide is programmed by Erik
Sjödin. The music that is conducted by Tora Thorslund is the first part of the piece Quattro Pezzi for solo trumpet by Giacinto Scelsi.
At the exhibition Konsthall SE
(at see) a number of artists is invited to make suggestions for public art for visually handicapped people.
